Sharon Strauss’ work examines the interrelationship between the built environment and the natural world, the manmade and the biological. She has exhibited her work at ACC Gallery, Tenafly, N.J.; the Carter Burden Gallery, NY, NY.; the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY; the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center Brooklyn, NY; and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Bainbridge Island, WA. Her work has also been featured in publications such as Studio Visit Magazine, Albany Poets and the Bainbridge Island Review. She has been an artist in residence at Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT. Her work is held in several corporate collections including Neiman Marcus, Group Health and Hotel Max in Seattle, WA. Strauss received an MFA in painting and drawing from SUNY New Paltz, and a BA, cum laude, from the University of Northern Colorado. She lives in Beacon, NY and teaches drawing and painting at SUNY New Paltz.
